The 8th Consortium Meeting of HYDROUSA took place on the 22nd and 23rd of March. The partners were informed on the progress of the project and interesting results from the demonstration sites were presented and discussed. During the meeting we welcomed Dr. Nikos Monokrousos from IHU SciTech introducing the methods measuring the impact of treated wastewater for irrigation on soil biota implemented in the agroforestry of HYDRO 2 at Antissa, Lesvos. Dr. Abraham Esteve-Núñez also joined our meeting presenting the concept of METland or electrogenic wetland which is part of the integration of Microbial Electrochemical Technologies (MET) with the biofilter used in artificial wetlands. METlands systems are operating in pilot scale at Antissa demo site, HYDRO1.
