With the demonstration sites Hydro 1 and Hydro 2 operating in Lesvos and creating sustainable, nature based solutions the local media made a special mention to Hydrousa Project in TO NHSI.
The Municipality of West Lesvos, together with DEYAL and the University of the Aegean, participates in the partnership of the European Research Project “HYDROUSA: Water resources management using innovative business models for reuse in the Mediterranean region”. The HYDROUSA project aims to develop and demonstrate innovative low-cost systems for the management of unconventional water streams, including wastewater, stormwater, groundwater, seawater and even atmospheric moisture. In Greece, it is being implemented in Lesvos, Mykonos and Tinos with the implementation of 13 innovations in 6 different pilot systems. The project is coordinated by the National Technical University of Athens and involves a total of 27 institutions from various European countries.
