A CIRCULAR WALK @TINOS ECOLODGE
23rd of June | 16.30h
How does an autonomous ecotourism unit in Tinos work? Can rainwater and the sun cover the residential needs for water and energy? How can we produce food without the use of agro-toxics?
How do we combine tradition with modern materials and technologies to cultivate the land? How can we reduce our environmental footprint through the operation of a hospitality facility?
As part of the HYDROUSA project, Tinos Ecolodge in collaboration with Impact Hub Athens is organizing an open visit to the project’s base in Tinos. The Open Day will take place on Thursday, 23 June at 4.30pm at Tinos Ecolodge near the village of Steni.
The Open Day is an introductory presentation about HYDROUSA’s objectives and the HYDRO technologies that have been implemented at the Tinos Ecolodge ecotourism unit for the conscious management of natural resources, namely water, energy and food.
Through a walking tour by the project initiators, Nikos Bedau and Marilia Kalouli, residents, professionals, local stakeholders, partners and visitors will learn about the cyclical solutions that have been implemented since the beginning of the project.
Participation is free of charge. Pre-registration is required here:

As part of the Open Day, the work – performance “fall with grace” by Despina Haritonidi will be presented as part of the Artist Residency.
The work “fall with grace” reflects the value of circularity and bodies of water, and relates to HYDROUSA’s mission of bringing nature-based solutions to address water scarcity.
Through the dance interpretation of 4 women, this work explores the unseen processes and impacts of human interventions in water-related environments.
The play will also be presented for the local community on 24 June at 18.00 in the public square next to the Tinos Cultural Foundation.
The Open Day is a meeting point and a starting point for community building, creatively communicating the value of innovative and circular uses of our natural resources.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
