Overcoming all the difficulties of the covid era, we are thrilled to open our demo sites to public, updating the local community on HYDROUSA’s circular solutions.
On the 15th of July, we welcomed local stakeholders and citizens to the demo site of HYDRO 1 & 2 in Antissa, Lesvos! They had the chance to get a first glimpse on the circular and regenerative applications that have been installed for the treatment of the domestic wastewater of Antissa village and its reuse for the management of the agroforestry system (HYDRO2).
Throughout the tour, NTUA representatives with HYDROUSA Project Coordinator Simos Malamis answered questions and discussed around the project, the circularity added value as well as the following planned activities on the island, with Municipality of Western Lesvos and the University Of The Aegean.
In September, the open days continued in HYDROUSA’s demo sites. A school visit was organised in HYDRO3 (Mykonos island) were the kids had the opportunity to learn about HYDROUSA’s innovative Rainwater Harvesting systems.
In Tinos Island, stakeholders participating in the permaculture cultivation seminar organised by Tinos ecolodge, got a demonstration tour in both HYDROUSA’s sites in Tinos, HYDRO5& HYDRO6. They got an insight on how water loops are integrated within a remote eco-tourist facility, making it self-sufficient and sustainable, adding also value by the agriculture activities.
Within HYDRO5 demo tour, the participants were informed about the nature-inspired low-cost desalination system applied, irrigating the tropical fruits cultivation in the production Greenhouse.
